Queen of Speed
This project entailed exploring unconventional publication formats, reconsidering how information and storytelling could be presented physically. When developing my concept, I created an “exhibition in a box” that showcased rally driver Michèle Mouton’s achievements through layered printed materials, archival imagery, and bold editorial layouts. The design aimed to reclaim the narrative surrounding her career by focusing on her success, resilience, and influence within a male-dominated sport.
Looking into the way female athletes were often exploited or misrepresented by the media throughout their careers, it inspired me to create a change I would want to see in how female athletes are represented. The challenge was creating a format that both informed and celebrated, whilst reflecting the intensity and energy of motorsport culture.
