The first task in this module encouraged us to delve into the concept of neurodiversity and explore how public spaces could become more inclusive and considerate of the unique experiences of neurodivergent individuals. Our group began by examining the various challenges neurodivergent people face in their daily lives. After extensive research, we chose to focus on dyslexia.
We found that individuals with dyslexia often encounter misunderstanding and a lack of adequate support when tackling tasks or expressing themselves. For instance, activities requiring quick reading or comprehension of written instructions can pose significant challenges, leading to frustration and a sense of exclusion.
Our goal was to brainstorm innovative ways to foster greater understanding and provide meaningful support for individuals with dyslexia. The image above highlights our thought process, key elements of our research, and the final campaign idea we developed.
