I developed my visual framework inspired by John Maeda's Laws of Simplicity, particularly the principles of Learn and Trust. These two ideas deeply resonate with me as I navigate the challenges of adapting to the rapid advancements in technology. As someone still growing and building experience as a designer, the concept of Learn reflects my commitment to expanding my knowledge, exploring new techniques, and stepping outside of my comfort zone.
The principle of Trust carries a personal significance for me. It’s about learning to trust not only technology but also my instincts and creative intuition. I’m working on embracing initial ideas, valuing my perspective, and having confidence in my ability to grow. I’ve noticed a tendency in myself to stick to familiar methods and ideas, but I recognize the importance of taking risks and believing in the potential of new approaches. By focusing on Learn and Trust, I aim to cultivate a mindset of curiosity, resilience, and self-belief that will shape my journey as a designer.
To design my Visual Framework, I used the technology Milanote. This was a new technology to me, but it turned out to be easy to navigate and definitely enhanced my workflow. Initially, I was going to save many images individually and crop them all together into a mood board, but with Milanote, I was able to search for key words and generate images. The images even credit the photographers/artists/designers, which again, streamlines the process.
