The past module that I would improve upon if I was to do it again is the mobile app. The mobile app that I created was around historical sites around Leeds and the aim of the project for me was to bring more awearness to the historical sites around Leeds.
Why? This is because given the technology that I now know about I would try to create it using augmented reality (AR). In addition to this, I feel that I could have improved upon the app and used more upcoming technology to help create it. Furthermore, augmented reality has become easier to use as well as learn and could make for a more viable way to make the app better.
To do this I would have made it so that when the user scanned an historical monument using their phone within the city and have information appear next to the monnument that related to it. This would have the added benefit of ease of access allowing more people to use the app. I would also incorporate QR codes which the user would scan and activate the the augmented reality.
With the use of augmented reality (AR) it would allow me to add more detail into the app as well and allow more users to use it instead of targeting one group of users for example samsung users. With the use of augmented reality it would allow me to target both groups of users (Apple and Samsunng).
In conclusion, if I was to do the mobile app project again I would incorporate augmented reality to help my app and make it different to others. The use of augmented reality as well could then be expanded to more than just the Leeds area allowing me to expand the use of the app to other areas.
