Neurodiversity in public spaces

For the first week, we started off thinking about creating a campaign that raises awareness for neurodiversity in public spaces. At first, I was thinking more of how to support neurodiversity in public spaces rather than spreading awareness. When researching more into this, I had an idea to potentially use neurodivergent stories from people who are willing to share. This spreads awareness about potential struggles they face and how they have learnt to deal with this. 'NeuroNotes: A journal from Many Minds' was me just thinking about a title which would fit this campaign.

Another idea I thought of, to mainly spread awareness on ADHD was to create something which breaks the myths about the laziness and disorganisation of ADHD. Creating a myth vs fact campaign, hopefully stopping stereotypes.

Guerrilla Girls Inspiration

To also spread awareness on ADHD or anything including neurodiversity, I would create a banner. When I first thought about this, Guerrilla Girls came straight to mind as I have researched into them in the past. This specific poster was what I gained inspiration from first. I could include a quote from someone who is neurodivergent based on their lived experience, a stereotype they’ve faced, or their own perspective. Especially if this is followed up by a statement contradicting this stereotype or the truth of what neurodivergent individuals go through. I could include a statistic like the Guerrilla Girls have done, to spread facts to the audience as well as personal stories.

This is a rough starting example of what I'd create.
