Neon Genesis Evangelion - Typography
I just happened to stumble across a post on twitter, discussing how someone had accidentally discovered the font used for the iconic title cards from classic 90's anime - Neon Genesis Evangelion. I'm quite fond of the series, and always found the title cards and a lot of the typographic and non diegetic visual elements within the series to be quite ephemeral and haunting. So when i stumbled across the post i was really interested. Turns out, the mystery the post was discussing - what typefaces were used in said title cards - had already been solved years ago, in 2019.
