RUBY BROWN

Ruby Brown is interested in how identity, taste, and audience shape design. Across her practice, the Norwich-based designer examines contrast in form and flair, pairing often organic, colourful forms with stringent, sharp typography. She draws from her interests in nature, music, and festivals, applying her verve for activity across rigorous, emotive design – attuned to experience.

How did she make it - she uses procreate for most of her deigns

  1. Research & inspiration – explores place, audience, and identity
  2. Visual exploration – combines fluid, natural forms with structured type for contrast.
  3. Design development – iterates digitally, refining colour, shape, and typography.
  4. Regional influence – uses colour palettes, textures, and forms that evoke northern landscapes or culture.
  5. Final design – ensures the finished piece reflects emotion, place, and audience.

What are the entry points - to to this myself I would look at using procreate as I have never used it before and she uses it for a lot of her works. I would also like to look into creating work for festivals and music posters, making them bright and colourful. I would need to think about the music involved and the audience to create each piece.
