The initial task in this module encouraged us to explore the concept of neurodiversity and how public spaces could be made more inclusive and aware of the unique experiences of neurodivergent individuals. Our group began by identifying the range of challenges faced by neurodivergent people in their everyday lives. After a lot of research, we decided to focus specifically on dyslexia.
We recognised that individuals with dyslexia often face misunderstanding or a lack of support when completing tasks or expressing themselves. For example, tasks that require quick reading or understanding written instructions can become significant barriers, leading to feelings of frustration or exclusion.
Our idea was to brainstorm ways in which we could promote a greater understanding and support for those with dyslexia. The image above shows our thought process, aspects of our research and our final campaign idea.
