(5.2.1) - Food pods!
For the first group project of FIVEPOINT2, me, Dan, Matt, Louis (icon boy) and Matthew worked together to create a city based installation project, in order to more specifically help Neurodivergent people exist within the city, but with the aim of helping everyone.
For the first group project of FIVEPOINT2, me, Dan, Matt, Louis (icon boy) and Matthew worked together to create a city based installation project, in order to more specifically help Neurodivergent people exist within the city, but with the aim of helping everyone.
The initial idea was to create an underground train service, which would allow for customizable environments to better suit each persons needs, allowing for headphones to be connected, and the noise to be reduced amongst other features. We moved away from that however, as we all weren't confident in the idea. It was Matthews suggestion to make the idea smaller in scope, localized within or near food establishments within Leeds, such as up in Trinity kitchen.

Sketches and ideas
So we started tinkering with the idea, sketching out designs for it, whilst Dan worked on the pitch slide (shown as the posts header). Drawing quick fire physical sketches helped to get the idea molded into shape.

Louis worked on some icons for the features of the installation, the customizable location, allowing for the playing of music, changing of temperature within a reasonable bounds, air conditioning, allowing for the dimming of the rooms windows to allow for privacy and a public or private mode to allow you to meet new people or not. These are just a few examples of the overall idea, but we decided to show what we saw as the most important and impactful. Between me matt and Matthew, we wrote out three versions of the spoken pitch, which we then collated into a final version.

The pitch

This is what we ultimately ended up with. In the process, we used physical methods such as sketching and note taking, along with digital practices, including creating icons in Figma, creating mock ups in illustrator and photoshop, then finally collating the pitch in a single slide and a written piece.
