Cinema 4D Workshop

Cinema 4D Workshop

Blood cell 3D creation.

As part of this module we have been engaging in workshops with Jon, a 3D specialist who has been introducing us to 3D software such as Cinema 4D. Over the three sessions we were aided step by step on how to navigate through this daunting software and manipulate shapes and movement to create a mockup of what it may look like inside a vein. I believe learning 3D software is a very important part of being a graphic designer as it can give an edge over those who may not know how to use it. It allows for the production of assets that can be taken elsewhere and into other pieces of work.

Before this session I had minimal experience in 3D software as I had attempted to learn Blender a few years ago before giving up due to the sheer scale of the program. The possibilities and creations seemed endless however so did the amount of things that I needed to learn. These entry level sessions allowed for me to yet again try to and stick with making a 3D creation, this opened endless ideas that I could intertwine with Cinema 4D to produce higher quality and thoroughly crafted work. This technology allowing me to create assets that could be brought into our real world digitally via the likes of adobe aero and displayed in a virtual exhibition that leaves no mark on the space it takes over.

However great this technology is it does have a significant drawback. The requirements to run and render on the programme are huge and not all devices such as my own can run it successfully and smoothly, meaning if I were to create something it would have to be in the studio which may not always be reachable. Despite this, I would still like to develop my learning of this software as it is something that highly interests me due to the possibilities it holds.
