Ar

Ar

AR is a technology that overlays digital content (such as images, sounds, or other data) on the real world, enhancing the user's perception of their environment. AR typically works through devices like smartphones, tablets, AR glasses, or headsets. – Description by Ai, Chat GPT.

During the workshop, we searched a set of instructions into Chat GPT to help us navigate a new app, Adobe Aero. We played around putting words, shapes and icons into the space we were in and then joined a mutual link so we could all see the same thing. Graham had put an Owl icon on the outside of the building, and we used our phones to try and see it. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to make this work either, but I had lots of fun making simple wayfinding arrows and directions.

For my AR scene, I have made my living room Christmas like, with a tree and a gold star, as you move the camera, it’s like the tree and star are part of the room, except this can only be seen in the app.

I’m not sure if I will use AR in the future, or in line with my projects, however, if I had known about it last year, it could have really helped one of the briefs which was to rebrand a space in Leeds. I imagined my space to have giant bowling pin statues outside the doors and I could have made a somewhat realistic interpretation of this using AR.
