6x6 Task 4.4

For this 6x6 task I decided to initially brainstorm an idea for each of the 12 sections. After analysing this I decided to go with number 4 for both; transform a space or object, immersive 3D environment. My idea is to implicate visuals onto everyday commuting areas using augmented reality and/or projection mapping. Showcasing different artists work along with supplying information and directions. This can be done by either projections onto buildings, tunnels, bridges, pavements or a more futuristic approach via new developing technologies such as an improved Apple Vision Pro on day to day eyewear. This would allow for the world and art around us to be catered to an individual rather than the overwhelming mass, while dystopian it could provide a new feel to a city and or commute.

However, while not intended in my idea it could be manipulated for the worse by promoting catered adverts and surrounding people with what they are comfortable with, not pushing them to try new things, leaving their routines similar and creating a dull and post apocalyptic lifestyle.

Despite this, my idea would allow for people with disabilities to navigate the world easier with certain aspects being catered to their needs. While this is solely an idea I experimented with the implication of still and moving image into augmented reality as seen below.

In conclusion this task made me reflect on how new and emerging technologies could be applied to the world for a greater good. Assisting the who need it along with providing pleasure and entertainment for the masses.
