In this brief, we had the opportunity to select two of the provided options. I chose "Generate Something New" and "Generative Design." Drawing inspiration from the 100 Book Covers brief, I decided to explore the creative potential of generative art. Using coding, I developed a series of randomized designs that incorporate letters as a key visual element. This approach allowed me to experiment with form, structure, and unpredictability, creating unique outcomes through algorithmic processes.
I then went on to use the exact same theme as the 100 cook covers, but used random shapes instead of circles and didn't restrict them to being in a grid. Here's what the outcomes looked like:
I thoroughly enjoyed using coding to create random designs and wanted to play with it even further. I challenged myself with different restrictions and guidelines to generate these images:
After playing around with this, I decided to use some other technologies to generate images, but I kept my guidelines the same to see how different the outcomes would be if I didn't use coding to generate these images. While the Ai generated images did follow the brief, they added lots of different details that processing didn't, like extra shading, other shapes and borders.
