Raising Awareness About Neurodiversity

Media Diet:

Looking into what I consume constantly just made me dislike my algorithm and made me think the stuff I look at is pretty abysmal.

Figma Animation:

A screenshot of the solar system animation we worked on during the workshop with Graham.

I got an introduction to moving image using Figma. The was my first time attempting to 'animate, or work with moving image so it was a challenge, although I had used Figma before during L4 so i found the interface relatively easy to grasp. I enjoyed learning functions on Figma that were new to me and would definitely consider using it in and potential future moving image projects.

'Workflow':

'At what Point do you feel you are designing?'

We were tasked during a session to document at what point of the design process do we really feel like we are designing. I documented how each part of the process made me feel to help me better understand whee my strengths and weaknesses might lie.

Following the documentation of my stronger/weaker point I experimented with multiple new resources such as Ai assistants file organisers that could help and support my workflow in the sages where I would otherwise usually struggle such as my admin, management and documentation. (I forgot to document which tools I experimented with)

Design Systems:

I've included a number of screenshots of some of my experiments using automated design tools. I had a pretty good time experimenting, enjoying the idea of not needing to produce a polished final outcome.

Introduction to precessing:

I didn't hate the coding. I found it interesting and can see how it could be very helpful although it did feel very time consuming and tedious. I'd never done coding before so i had to follow the tutorial closely but felt confident with using the basic commands and functions by the end of the tutorial, although at the time of writing this I couldn't tell you that I would feel confident to just start writing script.

Spartacus:

I found myself more frustrated and being challenged when working with moving image, It was my first time working with any kind of moving image/animation and it took me a while to get comfortable using a lot of new applications and functions such as after effects and cinema 4d. However I did find it interesting and am wanting to do more work with it and hopefully get better with using the various programmes and functions.

I found a majority of the moving image/animation work frustrating because I dint feel fully comfortable with the programmes and their functions.

In conclusion during this module I have generally enjoyed my time experimenting and testing new methods of creating and creating new things. I've enjoyed the idea of not needing to create a polished final outcome and having fun just experimenting. However I did find it frustrating quite a bit of the time because I had to learn a whole load of new things that I hadn't encountered before.

During this module what I mostly enjoyed was just experimenting with various design systems, creating all sorts of designs with completely varied aesthetics and absolutely no cause behind it all.

Going forward I'll be using certain tools more and some a lot less. it made me think more about what I consume and how I use the technologies available to me. Ill be using a lot less chatgpt and looking at a lot less Ai generated instagram posts.

I want to experiment more with animation and moving image before I decide whether its for me or not and I want to build a lot on processing and try to learn a more advanced level to a point where it could be useful to me on a regular basis.
