For this small project I decided to focus on a kind of obscure problem neurodivergent but particularly autistic people might endure, of always feeling watched.
Not the case for every autistic person of course, but seems to occur more than those who aren't, as if there's a camera on them at all times, even in private.
I found this exhibition created by an organisation called Art Spin in 2013
Stillnessence Vivarium’ by John Oswald.
A projected image onto a rough wall of people stood looking out onto the audience. I had thought of this before finding this exhibition, but I couldn't't find anything that matched the image I had in my head, this however is weirdly accurate including the transparent people as they go further back. My idea was to have a common space, somewhere public like a cafe with projected images of people watching you, a way that would make someone uneasy, a pop up exhibition that would occur anywhere, unexpectedly.
or maybe a combination of art and image.
