5.2 Blog Post: 4.4 Reflection
A Blog post discussing how technologies could have been integrated into the process and final outcome of my re-branding project.

My 4.4 Rebranding project last year was done based on the gambling company Murker Slots, In which I chose to redirect the focus of the business, in attempts to market the business towards a younger target audience, and refresh/ modernize the app in aims to make it more user friendly and focused towards the target audience. I used Figma to produce the app prototype, however in reflection, there are more tools and technologies I could have integrated into the process in order to have produced a more polished final outcome.

Similarly to the US Government's website, I could have used AI tools for asset generation and automation; using AI as a tool to form a wide range of cohesive icons and imagery that suit the visual profile of the app. This would overall have made my process significantly more efficient but also would have created a more unique and recognizable interface for the user to associate with Murker Slots.

Additionally, the use of interactive and immersive media, such as click controlled animations would have also largely improved the final outcome, likely making the user experience more entertaining and personal, for example, if I were to use a celebratory style animation or screen interaction if the user had won money whilst using the app. Not only does this engage the user, but will provide a sense of achievement, therefore drawing them back to use the app more, gaining positive interaction.

To conclude, the inclusion of more technology within this project would have likely benefited the end result of the app for Murker Slots in multiple ways. The use of AI would have made the process much more efficient, allowing me to spend time to focus on other aspects, such as possibly integrating more data-driven design. However, in terms of the potential brand-image, it could also be received negatively, as the use of AI can often be controversial, and may be deemed as unprofessional.
In reflection, moving forward I will aim to make more of an effort to integrate these useful technologies into my future work, specifically in terms of user focused design, as they will improve the overall interaction and professionalism of my work. In order to do so, I want to become more familiar with animating applications such as Jitter, which is compatible with Figma, to integrate these tools effectively.
