Brief: System Expansion

"Take your branding guidelines and demonstrate how your brand identity works across multiple applications, contexts, or scenarios."

Outcomes: Interaction

My idea would be to make a timeline of how matcha is made and how it got popularised throughout history

original idea: Remade a brand identity for Tsujiri, the matcha cafe.

Proposal: I would make it interactive by having large screens (3-4), and when someone touches the circle, a line begins to appear, and as the person keeps moving forward/along the screen, the video behind plays stills of important parts of the matcha history. Until it reaches the end. Then it says try our historical matcha today (something like that) with tsujiri's new offers.

Process

I would create a large interactive animation and make it a timeline of matcha.

Visual evidence

To start out, I would brainstorm what makes a good timeline and how many key dates I should add, because you don't want to bore the children and the customers with too much information. I would also start sketching out what icons I want to add to symbolise that time period and how to include people in it.

e.g, the idea of stirring a big batch of tea, and when someone presses on the utensil, it stirs it, making it interactive.

Technical Requirements

Obviously, I would need to expand my knowledge/skills in Adobe After Effects. I might create a storyboard to help me visualise what I need to be made. I would need to research how people use timelines in shows/ adverts/exhibitions to help me see what the best approach as it can be seen as very overwhelming. This can also help me differentiate what is crucial for making it informative but still entertaining for young people.

Process Documentation

During this proposal, I think it is crucial to be able to keep everyone I will be collaborating with, as well as myself, in line and keep to a schedule, but also give leeway with it as well, because nothing ever goes smoothly the first go. I believe a good way is to use Figma for team collaboration on the first stage and Teams for quick contact and group meetings, as well as Motio, which is a website that allows you to schedule tasks. As well as not on, which seems to be extremely prevalent with young people today. So, watching some tutorials on how to use the interface, I think these two sites can really help this project succeed.
