1. Bugonia Typeface

Who made it?
Vasilis Marmatakis (Bugonia poster designer)
Joseph Churchward (Churchward type) and Chank Diesel (Chank)
How did they make it?
Marmatakis used the type 'Churchward Roundsquare' designed by Joseph Churchward and Chank Diesel. He digitalised his own version of the font with Churchwards’ Daughters blessing from the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. He then printed it out and used water to subtly bleed the typeface. He then paired it with Adobe Garamond Bold within the title sequence, credits and posters.
What are the entry points?
To make work like this, you would need to view museum archives and use digitalisation tools to recreate them. You would then need to alter them in person to create different effects. In terms of recreating the font itself you would need skills in typography and a grid system to keep things uniformed.
