5.2.1 - Initiation

For 5.2.1, we were tasked to create a campaign that raises awareness about neurodiversity in public spaces. My group came up with the idea of having a space/area that has a lot of useful features that might help people with Neurodiversity in public spaces. As shown, these little pods are places you can sit down inside and relax, either talking to people, a place to work, chat and hang, but are only accessible to people with a special card/code that lets them inside. This is to prevent homeless people and others from invading the space and making a mess.
Some of the feedback we got from this, like many, was that this is solving something and not really bringing awareness. This does show people that there is a place for people who are neurodivergent, but this doesn't bring awareness as much as it should; it only solves the problem of what people might have in public spaces. I think a better approach might be something like a festival or an online meeting or a place where people who are neurodivergent can bring anything they created, from things like books, art, posters, etc. This should bring awareness to neurodivergent people, and it would help be a stepping stone for something in the future.
