Brief:

Depth of Motion - Return to your moving image project from last year. Keep the subject and concept, but increase the complexity of your approach. Use the motion graphics, animation, or projection techniques from this module to add depth, sophistication, or technical ambition to the work.

Outcome:

Animation: A pre-rendered, time-based piece that uses motion to communicate. This could be vector animation, cell animation, generative animation, projection-mapped content, or motion graphics. The sequence demonstrates considered use of timing, transition, and visual rhythm.

Project Overview:

Using some of the skills I have learnt in the motion sessions, I am proposing a reimagined 30-second motion project. This would include more elements that I learnt in the sessions, such as key frames, tracking, using type in motion and graphic tablets to illustrate. I kept my video very simple last time so that the videos would be the main focus of the project.

Visual Evidence:

These are some examples of what I would do for this project.

I drew up some quick examples of what I would have liked to do if I had known how. I would use animation to add illustrations to the videos to show more elements of my square in Leeds. I would animate the type and have different pop-ups throughout the videos as well.

Technical Requirements:

Before doing this I would definitaly develop my skills in both animating and illustration to start. I would try and get a better understanding of what I can full do with animation and figure out what different skills I would want to focus on building up. I would most likely use a mixture of Illustrator, Procreate, After Effects and Premiere Pro for this project, some of which I am more confident in then others. I would also do a lot of research into different artists and designers that work in this field to get some inspiration and understand how they work and go about these projects.
