Execution
Approach
For this brief, we were tasked with creating an 100 page PDF of random book cover generated designs. Using the software 'Processing' for the first time, I completed this task using code creating colourful covers making a radiating vibrant feel with neon colours. As we were shown in the studio, completing this task through regular methods of design such with Adobe softwares such as Illustrator would have ben very time consuming. However, completing this brief using code allowed for an efficient use of time, and a quick production of experimenting with designs. I loved using the randomiser code making each of the covers different in colour and shade and unpredictable which was a fun idea to play around with. This workshop has shown me one of the many ways that technology can help with efficiency and shortcuts in terms of experimentation and also final outcomes with design.
Animated GIF of shapes.
After I made the covers, I went into Adobe Illustrator to animate some of the shapes into GIFS. Because of the pattern gradients used, it gives the illusion that the circles are getting bigger and smaller which I like as it gives more dimension to the design. I also wanted to take this project further and give it motion because of the enjoyment I have had from the animation workshops in the studio. Moving image is exciting and I want to continue working on expanding my skills for future work.
