Wes Anderson dropped live action dioramas for actual ones all for better control. He first fascinated by it by "The life of Aquatic With Steve Zissou". PASSION PICTURES is a 3 time Academy Award - winning, full service global, animation and documentary production company. It was animated by a team of puppet makers from the company MAckinnom and Saunders, led by Ian MacKinnon and Peter Saunders.

The Chief animator Andy Gent was a huge fan of Roald Dahl so wanted to obtain a vitnage quality of the film. There was a crew of 140 people , it took around 7 months alone to make the first model of the fox and there was over 535 fashion puppets in six different sizes. Anderson oversaw the entire process .
