documentation

through out this module I have found it really fascinating being introduced to technology that have shifted to industry and especially that link to me. after my chat with Graham about the module and how I have found it he gave me an interesting outlook on how I should view the module. After talking about the kind of things I had being researching throughout the module he gave me a new perspective on the direction my process document should take. Which was less about the outcomes but more about how I would use these technologies in according to my interests and future plans as a designer.

I have noticed throughout this module that even when not meaning to I'm constantly engaging with new and emerging technologies just through consuming media around my interests for example fashion, music, skateboarding etc. wether that be through social media or research. I have come to the conclusion throughout this module that I am someone that likes to have a range of knowledge in topics that link my interests. something of which graham and I discussed. which made me re think the way I view my future career. in a way that may not lead down the path of a traditional designer, but more in a way that creates a strong visual identity that links the industry's that I am most fond on. something that I think would be really helpful for this is finding a way to document all of the media/ research that I consume somewhere to be all in one place. I have noticed throughout this project the amount of information that I consume that I don't actually view as myself pro actively researching that I never end up saving anywhere to look back on in the future. for example reading articles, magazines even watching videos though the internet wether out be through social media or other sources. I have found that I spend so much time consuming this media but because its something that I do subconsciously as its just a part of my daily life I never actually view it as research so I never make a pro active effort to document this information. This is a thought that I think that a lot of people can probably relate to.

one of the ways I am going to start to document this research which I really think will benefit me is through a website. I got this idea from the lectures were a website that archived early internet websites, "one terrobyte of kilobyte age". For one I loved a lot of the aesthetics of this old website, a lot of them were very reminiscent of the kind of visual identity that has become trendy again recently. however most importantly I really like this method of documentation. I like the idea of creating long like articles linked to information I have seen. I feel like this is something that will for one just help me keep track of the media I consume that I find helpful/ meaningful to me but also as a way of further experimenting/ honing to my own visual identity.
