When I was deciding which historical part of Leeds to make an AR experience for, I realised that I actually don’t know Leeds at all. I go home to Grimsby on the weekends and just come to Uni in the week, so I never really learnt much about the history of the city. What I do know however, is the train station. I spend quite a lot of time at the train station, my trains are usually delayed. But once I am finally on the train, you get to see a really interesting view of Leeds, including some of the main streets.
On the Network Rail website, they say that 'Leeds began its relationship with the railway in 1758, when parliamentary authority was granted for a wooden wagon-way to haul coal from Middleton to Leeds. In the early days of railway development, six different companies developed competing lines and different stations in and around Leeds.'
For my AR experience I decided to make an animation of a train on the track going over Call Lane.
