For this brief, I decided to choose a lamp to transform a space or object using print materials, but then took it further by experimenting with Adobe Neo and using its different features such as; making an AI photo from the scene and its animation prototypes too.
I used adobe firefly to generate an image of a lamp that I specified to be ambient and sculptural, so that it differentiates from everyday lamps, and I experimented with different commands and forms too, taking it from a flower inspired lamp to a sculptural composition. Taking the Ai image, I used photoshop to edit out the background, so that the lamp could be featured on posters. Then I used InDesign to play around with type and type faces that would match the organic structure of the lamp itself. I choose to 'reinvent' a lamp as I have a thing for interesting lighting features and I love to have unique lamps dotted around my room and thought it would be cool to prototype a lamp that changes colour to suit your mood without the click of a button.
When using Neo, I found that you had to think about what shapes to combine to create the actual shape that you want, which can be quite challenging. I liked playing around with the colours and seeing how they blend into each other due to the blended objects and I liked that you could generate an image based off of your scene, and that you could press animate and it would create a rotational animation of your object with ease. I think with more development and practice, adobe neo could be a really good tool to use to be introducing 3D modelling and animation into the practice.
