Type Activation
Take your type specimen or poster from the last
module. Move it to screen and investigate how the
type’s character changes or expands in a digital
environment. What does screen technology (motion,
variable axes, interaction, responsiveness) reveal
about the typeface that paper couldn’t?
Animation
A pre-rendered, time-based piece that uses motion
to communicate. This could be vector animation,
cell animation, generative animation, projection-mapped content, or motion graphics. The sequence
demonstrates considered use of timing, transition,
and visual rhythm.
This project is basically practice for showing how you work, not just what you make.
Instead of only caring about the final result, it helps you learn how to record your process:
your research, ideas, tests, mistakes, changes, and improvements. This is a smaller, easier version of what you’ll need to do for your final submission.
While doing it, you’ll also learn something about how you work best:
- Do you like starting from nothing and coming up with your own ideas?
- Or do you prefer having rules or limits and choosing a direction within them?
Neither is better — but knowing which feels natural helps you work smarter in the future.
The task also teaches you an important habit: don’t treat old work as finished forever.
Your earlier projects aren’t trash — they’re material you can come back to, rethink, and improve. That’s how your work gets deeper and better over time, instead of starting from scratch every time.
In short:
- It’s about how you think and work
- It’s about learning from your own process
- And it’s about building better work by revisiting and improving past ideas

What I would do would be to create a moving image animation where small tech and large tech combine together creating imagery of the same concept I created the booklet on which was making something chaotic makes sense it would be a very timeless piece of artwork where it could be flashing it can be simple moving very slowly it can turn black-and-white in the colours it can make you think of other shapes by looking at a other shape the overall idea is for tight to come together being playful.
