blood cell animation- cinema 4d

blood cell animation- cinema 4d

Throughout these workshops, I have been creating an animation of red and white blood cells which eventually led me to the outcome of them flowing through an animated vessel. Over the course of the weeks using Cinema 4D, I have picked up basic skills that have given me a base to understand how I can animate and the design potential the software has in terms of motion graphics.

In the workshops, we made the red and white blood cells using a basic collinder shape that then had a dip in the middle to give the illusion of a cell. A displacer effect was also added to give the geometry texture and a semi- realistic look. Using a cloner and randomiser effect, the number of cells multiplied in a sporadic environment. We also was shown how to add bullet tags which gave access to more effects to apply such as turbulence which made the cells move. We then made a spline shape and added a sweep to enclose the cells, like a vessel. This meant the cells could move as if they were inside a vain or vessel in the body. In the last workshop, we added lighting and a camera so that it could record the cells moving through producing my final animation.

I have enjoyed using this new software, despite its challenges. I have found it quite overwhelming many times due to its interface and endless functions, however have become much more confident in asking for help when it's needed to overcome these negatives. The workshops have made me a better designer as I have been shown different ways of approaching softwares that I wouldn't have otherwise tried and also have been helped defeat challenges in motion graphics through tools, techniques and shortcuts so that I can improve my skillset. These workshops have also expanded my knowledge of graphic design and highlighted the growing impact and involvement that motion graphics is having in industry.
