Amplify the overlooked.
Identify something small, hidden or overlooked- a physical detail, a system or everyday behaviour and amplify its presence. Celebrating and drawing attention to something that is usually ignored, helping an audience to see things in a new way.
Ideas (Brief)
- AMPLIFY the sounds of technology- sounds that are produced by devices for example clicks of a keyboard, the sound of a phone unlocking, or the notification sounds to alert messages. I could create a visual system that represents sounds in an interesting way for example designing a poster series (eg keyboard type sounds) using abstract shapes and typography. Celebrating and drawing attention to the sound behind technology gives an audience a new way of experiencing tech.
- AMPLIFY the physicality of technology. The tactile experience of using technology for example keyboard, computers taking the overlooking elements of technology and celebrating a visual experience of the sensation. I could use risograph or letterpress to add textural experiences, exploring how physicality affects perception of technology. Using risograph for example focuses tech through a tactile process allowing viewers to experience digital sensations visually or through simulation.
Concept maps of research and ideas demonstrating my thinking and inspiration.
To amplify something overlooked in a technology-related graphic design project, processes that are essential to technology’s function and experience. Highlighting overlooked details creates a project that invites the audience to see and appreciate details in a new and meaningful way, encouraging people to appreciate what may be otherwise missed. I need to consider and think about how I can highlight the complexity and importance of your subject.
Ideas (Outcome)
- Data Visualisation- "Designs that present information, data, or patterns in a way that is visually engaging and allows for exploration or interaction. A well-crafted data visualisation reveals insights, tells a story, or provokes thought by making complex information accessible. The visualisation should be clear, engaging, and purposeful, drawing the audience into deeper understanding."
